Statement LATAM - LM Guidelines
June 03, 2025
Dear LACES Members,
We would like to inform you of a recent publication in the International Journal of Cardiology regarding recommendations for the revascularization of left main coronary artery disease in Latin America.
Although LACES was initially invited to take part in this initiative, we proposed modifications to both the methodological framework and the composition of the working group to ensure a more inclusive, multidisciplinary, and regionally representative process. Unfortunately, our suggestions were not accepted, and as a result, investigators excluded LACES without any further negotiation.
We wish to make it clear that the published recommendations do not reflect the official position of LACES, nor were they developed with our endorsement or involvement.
At LACES, we strongly support collaborative efforts that are grounded in scientific rigor, regional relevance, and the inclusion of diverse perspectives from across Latin America. We remain committed to fostering high-quality, evidence-based cardiovascular care through open and transparent cooperation with all stakeholders in the region.
We appreciate your ongoing dedication to these principles and will continue to keep you informed of any future initiatives related to this important topic.
